TUI Headquarters

Case Studies > TUI Headquarters

As part of an office refurbishment, we were commissioned to install a reception area digital signage solution, and multiple presentation systems for meeting and training rooms.

tui travel agency
TUI Group is an Anglo-German multinational travel and tourism company, with its UK headquarters in Luton, Bedfordshire. It is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company in the world and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.
When they were looking to refresh the main HQ in Wigmore House, Luton, they commissioned us to design, supply and integrate audiovisual facilities, including a video wall stretching across the rear of the main reception desk.

The digital signage uses the ultra-slim bezel Orion displays and a Delta Media Server to deliver the day-to-day scheduled content.

The system is fully automated in that the screens turn on and off at a given time, with access to uploading content via a simple administration page accessed by the marketing team.

Every effort was put in to ensure the quality of images and video was high-definition and the management simplistic for the marketing team to use. This along with the environmental scheduling facility allowed this project to be achieved within two weeks of request and within budget.

Given the size of the required space, and the level of use and demand on the boardroom, this system was designed using UHD video conferencing along with discreet front projection.

All AV technology was requested to be only seen as and when required,so an HD NEC ceiling projector and Draper tab-tensioned projection screen were installed. These can be utilised at the press of a Crestron Touch screen, with the projector and screen dropping into place.

With a centralised equipment rack, the staff can neither tamper nor access any of the main AV technology supporting this high-quality solution.

Training Rooms

The challenge with the training rooms was that they were each partitioned with removable walls, to make three single training rooms or a combination of opening up of two or three further rooms for larger classes. We not only had to ensure that each room could work independently but also, they could work in a combined manner.

In the two larger spaces, we installed discreet NEC projection and in-ceiling screens. In addition, voice enhancement with Sennheiser wireless microphones and JBL ceiling speakers were installed and designed as not to bleed into any adjacent rooms.

By centralising all of the AV equipment, apart from the dedicated Crestron control system, we provided the users of the TUI training rooms confidence with a simple graphic icon that drops the screen and projector at the touch of a button.

Volume can be easily adjusted and when the space was opened up as a larger training space one of the Crestron Touch Panels would automatically become the master control for the room, giving trainers confidence in being able to be present without fear of the AV failing.
